Our 75 x 47mm (3x2) regularised treated timber is a versatile and reliable structural softwood, ideal for a wide range of internal and external applications. Available in both C16 and C24 strength grades, and in multiple lengths up to 4.8 metres (16ft), this timber is commonly used for decking frames, roof battens, fencing rails, stud walls, and general construction work.

✅ Finished size (regularised): approx. 70mm x 45mm
✅ Available in multiple lengths: 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.2m, 4.8m
✅ Choice of C16 (standard strength) or C24 (higher grade, fewer knots)
✅ Kiln-dried and pressure-treated for outdoor durability
✅ Planed all round (PAR) with eased edges for smooth handling

This timber is treated to UC2/UC3 standards to resist rot and fungal attack, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor structural use. C24 grade offers additional strength for load-bearing applications and longer spans.

Outstanding customer care. I placed a small order (60£ timber) from Fife and paid with Apple Pay. Unfortunately the site defaulted to their normal own delivery service which is for an unlimited volume so good value for larger orders, but would have been too expensive for a small order like mine. I hadn’t seen this until the order went through (entirely my fault). I had thought to cancel and the weekend office team were very kind and understanding about this. We agreed I would call them in the week to arrange this. But Alan and the Alter team phoned me back a day later and said they had researched courier costs and would be happy to do that instead - which saved a huge amount of hassle on a product that was out of stock in most places locally and made the whole order very reasonable. They also refunded me the difference. Way above and beyond for a small customer - can’t recommend them enough and will be using them for more timber needs in the future.
