Our 150 x 47mm (6x2) treated timber is a high-quality, regularised carcassing timber suitable for a wide range of structural and framing applications. Available in both C16 and C24 strength grades, this timber is ideal for floor joists, roof rafters, stud walls, decking subframes, and general construction.

✅ Regularised finished size: approx. 145 x 45mm (after planing)
✅ Available in multiple lengths – perfect for trade and DIY use

Outstanding customer care. I placed a small order (60£ timber) from Fife and paid with Apple Pay. Unfortunately the site defaulted to their normal own delivery service which is for an unlimited volume so good value for larger orders, but would have been too expensive for a small order like mine. I hadn’t seen this until the order went through (entirely my fault). I had thought to cancel and the weekend office team were very kind and understanding about this. We agreed I would call them in the week to arrange this. But Alan and the Alter team phoned me back a day later and said they had researched courier costs and would be happy to do that instead - which saved a huge amount of hassle on a product that was out of stock in most places locally and made the whole order very reasonable. They also refunded me the difference. Way above and beyond for a small customer - can’t recommend them enough and will be using them for more timber needs in the future.
